Hope Language School is a private community language school with approximately 60 students. Hope Church started the school in 2005 to help the local community. To enroll, please ring/email/text to arrange an interview.

Classes


There are classes at levels from Pre-Intermediate(E2) to Upper-Intermediate (L1). Most classes are in the morning and there is also a class on Saturday. It is possible to study for exams in some classes which are linked with Luton Adult Community Learning. Term dates: 19th September 09 - 16th July 10. There are 36 teaching weeks. Holidays are the same as school holiday weeks. For class details see below.


Cost of classes


E2 - E3
Employed full-time £2 per hour
Employed part-time/Not working £1.50 per hour


Advanced £72 per term all students
Saturdays part-time - Not working £3 / Working full time - £4.50 per class


Teachers


All classes are taught by qualified teachers and follow UK Government teaching guidelines and standards for teaching English to speakers of other languages (ESOL) The Head of School is Jean Mutch.


Citizenship


In daytime classes all students study Citizenship topics such as health, employment and British culture. At the end of the course students will receive a certificate to show they have studied Citizenship. This can be sent to the Home Office as proof of study but please note that Hope Language School does not have Home Office recognition and it will also be necessary to undertake examinations in spoken English at another institution in order to fulfill criteria for ILR or Citizenship.


Social Events


In addition to classes, members of Hope Church offer you opportunities to practice your English and learn more about British culture by: Inviting you to learn how to cook British food inviting you to social event such as Bonfire Night, dances, bowling organizing trips eg: London, Dunstable Downs, St. Albans Head of the enrichment programme is Lauren Massey
