Training
As a church, we encourage participation of all our members in works of service that build up the church and the community that we live in. There are many different things that people can get involved in, most of which are behind-the-scene initiatives. We feel that it is important that we train up leaders for different jobs in the church. Many church often complain about the lack of leaders and we are taking an active role in training up leaders.
Cell Groups
Currently the most frequently used method of training is done through cell groups, training up the next cell leaders. This is part of the model of cell groups and ensures that we always have a leader ready to lead the next cell group.
Training is not easy - If we are going to be training others, we need to know why we do what we do in cells and not just how. We mustn't take for granted that we know why and therefore so does everyone else. Everyone needs training to see why we do what we do. That way we won't get diluted as a church as we get bigger. We need to teach others how to teach.
