Our Vision

As a church we believe God speaks today, not just to individuals but to His church. Our desire is to discover and follow God’s vision for Hope Church.

We feel that God has spoken to us about Luton being a town of contrasts. On the one hand there is the airport; a place full of dreams, excitement and expectancy for the countries and events people are going to travel to. On the other there are areas where there is a deep sense of despair and failure, people seem trapped with nowhere to go and nothing left to hope for.

As a church we are to preach hope. Hope for our future glory and salvation - for eternity! We want to show people the hope for now, for every day until Jesus returns. We believe God will equip us to do that by His Spirit. We believe that one of Hope Church’s gifts is grace - grace to bring hope to those in despair in Luton and to lead them into the destiny God has for them.

We feel that God has called us to work within the different nations living in Luton. We trust that God will give us wisdom for this and enable us to support those from other nations and lead them to freedom and fulfillment in Christ.

Church planting is also on our agenda, in Luton and surrounding areas as well as overseas. Just as fireworks in a display spark and bang in a surprising way, so too God uses members of Hope Church in church planting.

Our new building is part of God’s prophetic plan for us. In October 2006 a prophecy was given to us that a building would come our way, it would not be a building we would first run to, but we would be given a unique opportunity to use it. We would be caretakers for a season and then it would fall into our hands. We are now worshipping in that building following 18 months of taking care of it!
