TONY THOMPSON – Lead Elder
Tony Thompson leads Hope Church, he is married to Anne and they have two grown up sons, Stephen and Ben, and three delightful grandchildren. He seeks to enable churches to work together across Luton, through leading Transforming Luton and as a member of Churches Together in Luton Executive. Tony has a history of involvement in starting churches in this country and overseas. He is particularly involved in starting and supporting churches in Spain. Tony enjoys running and reading in his leisure time and has completed the London marathon on numerous occasions. Anne works full time as a head teacher.
NIGEL MIDDLETON – Administrator
Nigel’s role is based around heading up the administration at the church. This ranges from taking hiring bookings, dealing with day to day inquiries and supporting the various requirements for the team here. Nigel is married to Theresa and has 2 grown up son’s, Joel & Luke. He previously worked at the Luton Library Theatre for 27 years where in his latter years was the Theatre Manager. His favourite things are movies, classic rock and dark chocolate.
Nigel is in the office 9am – 5pm Monday to Thursday.
LUKE MIDDLETON – Communications Manager
Luke has been part of the life of Hope Church since its early days and takes on the role of communications. Anything from our weekly What’s On newsletter, keeping our church website up to date and much of our print and digital publicity, plus all the communications stuff in-between. He also produces video content for us as a church as well as professionally. Get in contact if you have something you think should be communicated.
Luke loves movies and also enjoys a wide range of music and likes going to see his favourite bands perform live in his spare time, as well as leading our worship team. When not working for the church he is a multi-skilled media freelancer.

THERESA MIDDLETON – Pastoral Care Lead
Theresa has been a part of Hope Church since 2006. She is married to Nigel and has 2 grown up son’s, Joel & Luke. Theresa supports the Community Areas and our community outreach ministries within Hope Church in developing all aspects of pastoral care. She loves spending time with people especially over a coffee. She is also part of the Hope Church Ministry Team. Her passion is to see lives transformed as people come to know and follow Christ.
LINDA GEEVANATHAN – Leader
Linda moved to Luton in 2002 to join our church. She has lived in several countries around the world including Singapore, Australia and Nigeria, but she spent the first years of her life here in Luton. Linda taught in a Marsh Farm school, Luton for ten years and then spent a year on an internship at Bethel Church in Redding, California. This was an amazing experience which gave her a greater understanding of the Father’s heart and the power of God. She has served on a number of teams both at school and within the church and brings considerable leadership gifting to Hope Church. Linda also brings oversight and support to various leaders in the church.

JANE REYNOLDS – Welcome & Inclusion
Jane gives her time to coordinate welcome at Hope Church as well as being able to support and initiate other activities within the life of the church. Jane is one of the founding members of the church who has served over the years in a variety of different ways, always focusing on people. This is also true for the numerous jobs she has had outside of the church. Jane is our major connector. She will hook you up with information, answer your questions and introduce you to others across the church. With her infectious smile she will encourage you to come and get involved and ‘see that the Lord is good’. A hobby of hers is she loves to go swimming in her spare time.

SARAH HIBBARD – Open House Lounge Manager
Sarah is the manager of Open House Lounge. She is responsible for all aspects of running the lounge and oversees a team of volunteers to help; she enjoys making everyone who visits the lounge welcome. Sarah is married to James, she has spent three years working in Africa and has been living in England for over 15 years but is proud of her Welsh roots. Her hobbies include 3D origami and painting.
SHIRLEY WESTON – Cross-Cultural Family and Kids Worker
Shirley has been living in Luton since 2015 and part of Hope Church since then. Her heart is for the local Asian community and she is reaching out to families through prayer, friendship and in practical ways. She has a special desire to see children feel valued and grow in their relationship with God and knowledge of his love. She hopes to develop this vision by overseeing the children’s work at Hope, combining this with some of her cross cultural projects.
Shirley loves to travel and learn about new places and communities. She taught in Azerbaijan for six years – which was both challenging and wonderful! Shirley also makes really tasty brownies!
