God keeps moving

“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”

 

God has turned the tap on. I am seeing more openness to the gospel than i have ever seen.

 

In my last blog,  I shared about family and friends showing increasing interest in the gospel. A quiet revival.

 

Since the published blog, my hairdresser recommended an electrician. He came round and conversation flowed as he worked. He said he used to play soccer against the former pastor of Luton Christian fellowship, Alan West and Christians in sport. He is a local Lutonian.  An opening to continue more.

 

My sister wanted to read Duncan Bannatyne (Dragons Den) life story from my book shelf. She liked the part where he met Jesus, heard his voice and heard his invitation to follow. She was curious.

 

Recently I had the opportunity to attend a rehab gym. My trainer got chatting. She said she used to be a Mormon attending a Luton branch with her family. Her own family rejected the Mormon church. She asked for copies of my book which she distributed to her team.

 

These things are happening in the context of weakness not strength. Just recently I have been invited to preach the gospel to the Iranian church at LCF Luton using the translation of my book to Farsi. It opened up

 

However, I did hear a challenging exhortation recently. John Wesley saw revival coming many years ago and started Methodism. He saw the need for the containers for revival to be strong enough to hold the converts through discipleship. He anticipated a need to prepare.

 

So we need to be ready to be strong containers.

 

The great thing is that we can all share Christ with “gentleness and respect.”
